No word on IRS e-services PTIN application status

The IRS has stated that the online Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) application tool will be up and functioning by “mid” September.  As of this morning, it is still not up, but we will keep you posted as to when you can jump in and either apply for a PTIN or renew your existing one.  Remember that there is a PTIN cost of $64.25 per preparer for this process.
